It takes something truly extraordinary for a rookie player to be named First Team All-Pro, but in 2017, Arizona’s Budda Baker was more than up for the challenge. Week 11’s head-to-head against Houston offered Baker plenty of opportunities at marquee plays, none bigger than his off-the-edge blitz, followed by a strip sack — and recovery — an all-in-one sequence that helped spark an offensive touchdown just two plays later. Despite the Cardinals’ 31-21 loss to the Texans, Baker’s name was one that statisticians came to know quite well on Nov. 19, 2017, as he tied for a game-high 13 tackles (11 solo), the aforementioned strip sack, two forced fumbles, and two passes defended.
