From the Wild Card Round all the way through Super Bowl XXXIV, the Titans’ heart rate-rising run through the 1999 NFL Playoffs was one built on late-game thrills and chaos in crunchtime. Perhaps, then, it’s only fitting that it began with the “Music City Miracle,” an across-the-field forward pass that Kevin Dyson used to spring himself free on a 75-yard kickoff return touchdown. In a matter of 12 seconds, Tennessee’s sidelines went from somber-eyed to one of celebratory rave, and the Adelphia Coliseum followed suit, jumping to their collective feet upon witnessing one of league history’s most unlikely comebacks. Dyson’s electrifying runback — and a four-yard reception — served as his box score contributions to a storybook 22-16 win over the Buffalo Bills on Jan. 8, 2000.
