The NFL’s record books had never come face-to-face with an offense capable of going through the full playoff gauntlet without recording a single turnover — that is, until they met one of football’s great winners in Sam Darnold. When he wasn’t protecting the football and keeping the Seahawks’ attack ahead of schedule, Darnold was making highlight plays, headlined by a 16-yard play-action dime, a late-game ice-breaker that served as Super Bowl LX’s first touchdown. The sequence allowed Darnold to both earn a signature moment on football’s biggest platform, and add padding to what would become Seattle’s 29-13 win over the New England Patriots on Feb. 8, 2026.
