In the lead-up to Sunday’s AFC Title Game, the Broncos’ head coach addressed the media through a two-word phrase that made it clear of how confident he was in Jarrett Stidham’s shock-the-world ability: “Just watch.” Minutes in, Stidham appeared poised to prove that statement true, successfully passing the test against New England’s star-studded secondary with a 52-yard, statement-sending strike. Stidham, looking nothing like a quarterback making his first NFL start in 749 days — or one with just one victory on his professional career ledger — turned said momentum into a touchdown play soon thereafter. Mother nature, and the Patriots’ defense, disrupted Denver’s plans in a 10-7 loss, but Stidham proved serviceable with 156 offensive yards and a score on Jan. 25, 2026.
