Of all the ways to describe Caleb Williams’ season-saving act of magic on Jan. 18, 2026, perhaps one celebrated sports commentator encapsulated it best: “If you hadn’t seen it, you would not believe it.” As if equipped with a video game-like “99 overall” during crunchtime, must-have situations, Chicago’s second-year sensation added to his growing legend, backpedaling 20+ yards in hopes of avoiding the Los Angeles Rams’ star-studded pass rush. Drifted back far enough to make a touchdown feel like a one-in-a-million,Williams did the impossible, hitting his somehow-open tight end in the far-left corner for a game-tying, “14-yard” touchdown toss. Victory wasn’t to be, as the Bears fell 20-17, but Williams’ highlight reel was nonetheless must-see, as he accumulated 297 total yards, alongside two touchdowns.
