A trip to the Super Bowl often requires a great competitor to reach deep into their bag of tricks; for 37-year-old Matthew Stafford, that meant calling his own number on a season-saving 4th & 1 run. Unbothered by father time, nor the vaunted defense standing opposite, Los Angeles’ lionhearted veteran turned back the clock with as clutch a three-yard run as one could produce, all the while taking a Seahawks defender along for the ride. Although Stafford’s determination didn’t go rewarded with a victory, the clutch plays — and a 374-yard, three-touchdown masterpiece — nonetheless became memorable footnotes in the Rams’ 31-27 loss to Seattle on Jan. 25, 2026.
