It’s only been a half-decade since Carlton Davis made the plays necessary to become a Super Bowl champion; during New England’s statement-sending Divisional Round win, the veteran cornerback had the look of a player eyeing an encore. A key catalyst in what became a five-turnover nightmare for the Texans, Davis got the party started, playing “centerfield” on a diving, toe-tapping, over-the-shoulder interception to kill Houston’s scoring hopes. One quarter later, Davis had a two-minute warning of his own to deliver, halting Houston just before halftime with pick No. 2 on a perfectly-undercut play. Benefits were reaped through the Patriots’ 28-16 win on Jan. 18, 2026, and Davis demonstratively did his part, joining his two interceptions alongside four passes defended and four tackles.
