Trick plays have certainly proven to be a foil for rookies to diagnose throughout the NFL’s history, but with a highlight play on Jan. 12, 2026, Pittsburgh’s Jack Sawyer showed Houston that he wasn’t an average first-timer. Reading the Texans’ flea-flicker attempt like a book, Sawyer — demonstrating both awareness and a high motor — flipped field position with a fumble-forcing strip sack that gave the Steelers an upper hand in the game’s early go. Houston couldn’t shake Sawyer, but they did shake off the cobwebs in an eventual 30-6 finish; notable nonetheless during an impressive rookie season, Sawyer became a box score standout through that aforementioned tackle-sack-takeaway contribution.
