Down 17-0 — and on the cusp of a 1-4 start — Young engineered one of his finest comeback victories, starting with a couldn’t-be-more-perfect, anticipatory touchdown toss to his 6-foot-3 sophomore talent. The afternoon’s heroics were only just beginning, as Young finished the job a few quarters later, hitting his rookie tight end for a game-clinching touchdown to secure a signature 27-24 victory over Miami. In a great show of resilience, Young captained the charge through a 198-yard passing effort (on 19-of-30) and two touchdowns to resuscitate Carolina’s season.
