As the Saints brainstormed through ways to secure an underdog, come-from-behind win over Tampa Bay on Dec. 7, 2025, Tyler Shough settled on the perfectly ironic plan: becoming too difficult for the Buccaneers’ defense to catch. Already revered for his ability to generate through-the-air highlights, Shough decided to overwhelm the Buccaneers’ defense with his underrated scrambling ability, using two go-ahead touchdown runs — a 34-yarder and a 13-yarder — setting the path for a 24-20 triumph. Shough’s elusiveness and grit went perfectly explained on New Orleans’ end-of-game box scores, as he tallied 144 passing yards (on 13-of-20), alongside seven carries, 55 yards, and two touchdowns.
