If the phrase, “You’re only as good as your last game” holds any truth, fifth-round talent Oronde Gadsden II certainly took it to heart during his historic, consistent-as-can-be rookie breakout in October. Three nights after resetting the NFL’s record books with a 164-yard game — fourth most by a first-year tight end — Gadsden appeared ready for an encore, starting with a heavy-concentration, eight-yard score in the opening quarter. Additional brilliance would follow, as Gadsden enjoyed a 40-yard catch-and-run, one of many dazzling plays during the Los Angeles Chargers’ 37-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings. In throwback threads, Gadsden likely made tight ends in the franchise’s past proud through a five-catch, 77-yard, one-touchdown outing on Thursday Night Football.
