Urged to bring his A-game during Week 5’s battle of resurgent passers, Mayfield first got the highlight reel’s wheels turning by sending a 57-yard slingshot dime, positioning Tampa Bay for a second-half score. One quarter later — with the Buccaneers behind by a touchdown in the final minute — Mayfield escaped pressure before connecting on a game-tying, 11-yard laser that eventually helped secure a 38-35 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Oct. 5, 2025. Mayfield was nearly perfect in the shootout, going a miraculous 29-of-33 for 379 yards and two touchdowns, good for a 134.7 quarterback passer rating.
