The month of October has been friendly to the Saints’ goal of connecting on downfield shots, and on Oct. 5, 2025, Spencer Rattler left New Orleans positioned for one of its season’s best plays. Perhaps catching the Patriots’ defense still half-asleep during the afternoon’s first offensive play, Rattler opened Week 6 in style, putting a downfield pass perfectly on his receiver’s gloves for a 53-yard pickup. Plays of that magnitude allowed Rattler to help the black-and-gold match the opposition nearly score-for-score in the early outset. The 25-19 loss to New England was the eventual result, but Rattler again affirmed his up-and-coming status with 227 yards (on 20-of-26 passing), plus a four-carry, 20-yard boost.
