There was no rain on Sept. 21, 2025’s forecast, as the Seattle played host to New Orleans in Week 3, but given the downpour of big plays that Sam Darnold’s Seahawks unleashed, one certainly could’ve been fooled. Integral in his role during Seattle’s highest-scoring game since 2022, Darnold turned to his trusted No. 1 receiver during a play-action design, hitting him stride for a triple-covered, 45-yard laser, alongside a 15-yard roughing the passer penalty. Darnold’s Seahawks scored quite often during the 44-13 win over the Saints, and the newly-acquired passer settled among the afternoon’s stars, going 14-of-18 for 218 yards and two touchdowns, leaving him just shy of a perfect passer rating (154.2).
