When rookies imagine dream scenarios for an ideal first-ever NFL game, they unquestionably think of something akin to what Emeka Egbuka experienced during Week 1 on Sept. 7, 2025. Prompt in living up to first-round draft capital for the Buccaneers, Egbuka flashed brilliance against the Atlanta Falcons, first through a go-ahead, 30-yard touchdown during the opening half. Unfinished, Egbuka emerged later, showing a veteran’s poise on a 25-yard score that afforded Tampa Bay a lead — and ultimately a 23-20 win — with just 59 seconds remaining. Egbuka’s four-catch, 67-yard, two-score tally was ultimately nothing short of historic, as he became just the NFL’s second-ever player post-merger to have a final-minute, game-winning touchdown in his debut.
