Down to a final desperation play, and no receiver catching his eye, Atlanta’s up-and-coming quarterback called his own number, stretching his frame across the goal line for a go-ahead touchdown to bring the Falcons’ faithful to its collective feet. The second-year signal-caller enjoyed plenty of bright spots, even in a 23-20 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as he finished 27-of-42 for 298 yards and a score, accompanied by six carries, 21 yards, and an additional score.
