Offensive playcallers are often awake long into the night, brainstorming through ways to scheme up their top talents; in Week 1, the Seahawks found that they had no such problem when it came to Pro Bowl receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Drawing his new quarterback’s attention early and often, Smith-Njigba saved his best for last on a final-minute 2nd & 10 with the Seahawks trailing by four, breaking free on an “out-and-up” route concept before reeling in a 40-yard reception. The play breathed life into the Seahawks’ victory hopes, even in a 17-13 loss on Sept. 7, 2025. Extraordinary nonetheless, Njigba enjoyed a nine-catch afternoon — and 124 of his passing offense’s 150 yards — introducing Year Two in style.
