As they watched Super Bowl XXXVII’s once-commanding 34-3 lead turn into just a 13-point edge, Tampa Bay likely felt Oakland breathing down its metaphorical neck; through one perfectly-timed come-from-behind sack, Warren Sapp showed that two could play at that game. Still in search of a defining play on football’s grandest stage, the All-Pro defensive tackle found his moment in the final two minutes, turning a congested pocket into a strip sack, setting up a teammate’s game-clinching pick-six just one play later. Adding to what had already become a storybook, trophy-winning career, Sapp added NFL champion to his résumé, recording two tackles, one strip sack, and two passes defended during Jan. 26, 2003’s 48-21 win over the Raiders.
