Circumstances certainly weren’t ideal, but in producing a perfect 158.3 quarterback passer rating, and guiding Washington’s must-have overtime win as a backup, Kirk Cousins could consider Dec. 9, 2012’s afternoon a job well done. Promptly pressed into action after the team’s initial starter entered the medical tent, Cousins — despite having only two pass attempts — found himself perfectly in-rhythm, delivering a final-minute, 15-yard touchdown to trim the deficit to two. Suddenly in need of only a two-point conversion to force OT, Cousins entrusted himself with the task, navigating through the trenches for a gutsy scramble. Planting seeds for future seasons, Cousins left the 31-28 win over the Baltimore Ravens as a hero, finishing the afternoon with 26 yards (on two-of-two passing) and a touchdown.
