Having already put together a solid performance throughout this game in just his second career NFL start, Falcons rookie signal caller Michael Penix Jr. showed that the ability to perform in critical moments he flashed in his college absolutely translated to the NFL game as well. On fourth-and-goal from the 13-yard line down by a score with less then 90 seconds to go, it was now or never for Atlanta's offense, and Penix delivered, firing a strike to his tight end for the game-tying touchdown pass. Penix tallied 223 yards and one touchdown through the air in this one, but Atlanta would go on to fall in overtime, losing to the Commanders, 30-24, on Dec. 29, 2024.
