Given its feast-or-famine nature, fourth downs — for even the NFL’s most prolific offenses — are often a source of stress; for Keon Coleman and the Buffalo Bills, it merely served as another opportunity to add to perfection. Among four different receivers positioned to potentially be heroic with Buffalo trailing by double digits in the third quarter, 2024’s No. 33 pick sped into action, turning a free release and well-maneuvered hitch route into a deficit-trimming 49-yard catch-and-run. Coleman’s play moved Buffalo to a pristine seven-of-seven in must-have fourth down situations in 2024. Expected to be one of its many big-play manufacturers over the next decade-and-change, Coleman offered just that in the 23-20 loss to the Houston Texans, recording a one-catch, 49-yard, one-touchdown effort on Oct. 6, 2024.
