Perhaps it was only right that on an afternoon defined by “Hail Mary” passes and downfield receptions, the Washington Commanders received first a preview from the player who made big-time plays his calling card over the last six seasons. Taking full advantage of a free release into his route, Terry McLaurin jets down the left sideline, hauling in a 61-yard reception, ultimately positioning the Commanders for a field goal in the game’s opening quarter. In a 18-15 victory over the Chicago Bears on Oct. 27, 2024, McLaurin — who elevated to No. 7 all-time on Washington’s receptions leaderboard — was brilliant throughout, piling up five catches (on eight targets) for 125 yards in Week 8.
