Kept afloat by a cornerback with a video game character-like skillset and repertoire, the Miami Dolphins, smartly, elected to spam the “Jalen Ramsey” button on Oct. 20, 2024 through a most-unlikely method: the pass rush. Transformed, miraculously, into an elite edge rusher on back-to-back plays, Miami’s star cornerback prepared for a third consecutive on a deceptively-timed blitz, tracking down Indianapolis’ quarterback for a drive-ending pressure. Equal parts brilliant in his downfield coverage, Ramsey — having allowed only 86 yards over 324 defensive reps to date — tied for the NFL’s single-game high in pressures forced (four) by a defensive back in Week 7. Rock solid, even in a 16-10 loss to the Colts, the seven-time Pro Bowler also accumulated four tackles (two solo), two QB hits, and just eight yards allowed (on three targets).
