Before preparations to play the Texans had even truly begun, Chicago’s secondary — in celebration of Week 1’s win — spoke proudly about having “no weak link” within their secondary; in Week 2, Houston showed that they, too, own such a luxury. Perhaps inspired by his teammate’s interception on the drive prior, Derek Stingley Jr. took an opportunity of his own, mirroring the Bears’ star wideout during a deep route before positioning himself to win a 50-50 ball. Stingley’s third quarter takeaway helped fuel the Texans’ 19-13 win on Sept. 15, 2024, with the third-year contributing one interception, one pass defended, and just 57 yards allowed (on six targets).
