Xavier Worthy's first career touchdown was a masterclass in how to marry creative playcalling with having the right personnel on the field. Orbiting behind the quarterback from the left after the offense had bluffed in that direction, the star Kansas City rookie receiver took a pitch from his star signal caller and turned on the jets, showing off the speed that set records at the NFL Draft Combine. Once he got back to the line of scrimmage, he cut upfield, darting through the defense nearly untouched for the 21-yard score. Worthy would go on to score again later in the game, finishing with 68 yards of total offense and two scores on just three touches in his NFL debut, helping the Chiefs to a 27-20 win over the Ravens on Sept. 5, 2024.
