In the fourth quarter of this back-and-forth battle between Minnesota and Philadelphia late in the 1978 NFL Season, which would be the last of his storied career, Vikings quarterback Fran Tarkenton dropped back to pass on the icy field, pump-faked once, and then lofted a ball towards the end zone, which was hauled in by a leaping receiver for the 20-yard score. The ensuing extra point gave the Vikings the lead, and ultimately won the game. Tarkenton threw for 289 yards and four touchdowns in this one, eclipsing the previous record for completions in a season in the process, leading Minnesota to a 28-27 win over the Eagles on Dec. 3, 1978.
