(Feb 6, 2005 · Week 21)
Patriots safety Rodney Harrison had one of the most impressive defensive performances in Super Bowl history when New England met the Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX. Though he contributed defensively in multiple ways, it was his two interceptions that made the biggest impact. His first came in the first quarter, as he came flying in from the other side of the field to get in front of a wayward pass and pull it in for the interception, halting a promising Eagles drive. His second came late in the fourth quarter, as the Eagles began their attempt at a game-tying or -winning drive, as he got into position to intercept a deflected pass that secured the Patriots' third title in four seasons. All told, Harrison also tallied 12 tackles and a sack in this one, helping the Patriots to a 24-21 win on Feb. 6, 2005.
