With no time left on the clock, the ball at midfield, and his team down by eight points, Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson had no choice but to heave one towards the end zone, but with a pass rusher closing in, he couldn't step into the throw. Despite having to throw it off his back foot, Wilson's deep ball made it where it needed to go, bouncing off a few hands before being snatched out of the air by a receiver for the miraculous touchdown. The score brought the Broncos within two points, setting up a two-point conversion attempt to try to force overtime. Wilson threw for 308 yards and three scores in this one, and added another 56 yards on the ground, but the two-point try was ultimately unsuccessful, resulting in a 35-33 Denver loss to the Commanders on Sept. 17, 2023.
